As East Fife stutter and stumble over the finishing line, there's only two games of the Scottish Second Division season to go and that'll be a relief to everyone down Bayview way.

As we've said before, the close season is murder unless you've had a season to forget. That's where we fall into now.

For me, the jury is still out on Stevie Crawford's now official appointment.

I'll give him time but I can't help but feeling the Club have done this on the cheap. You can't tell me that he was the best candidate that applied.

He's saying the right things about giving youth a chance but since we disbanded our under 19 side and have no apparent youth policy in place, you have to wonder where he's going to get all these players from.

It's going to be tough for Stevie. Whether we all agree with his appointment or not, the key now is to give him our full backing and see where he can take us.

Let's hope for another Stevie Archibald rather than a Gavin Murray.
